Wash Day

Do you wash your fabrics before using?  You see, I don't wash my fabrics so I was really concerned about my quilts shrinking and the colours bleeding when I decided to wash them. No worries at all - they all came through the wash beautifully.

All sorted

I've finally finished squeezing my store into our garage...well most of it. We closed our store in Jimboomba just over 2 weeks ago and for two weeks I have be sorting, cleaning, moving the whole house to accommodate all the stock. Boy, am I glad most of it is unpacked and found a home. This is what our garage looks like now. A bit different...

Doesn't look to bad...now to find a home for all the shop samples.

I spent the day clean out the bookcase that holds my collection of magazines. I have collected every issue of Homespun and Country Threads plus loads of Handmade, Quilters Companion......the list goes on!!!!
I'm not game to add up how much I have spent on magazines but I can't help myself.

Look whose cooking

Proof, I do know where the kitchen is, loll!!! My DH does most, if not all of the cooking but I thought I would make some scones. Easy I thought, I can do this. Mix SR flour with icing sugar, make a well, pour cream in the middle then make a dough, roll out, cut out scones then place in oven. Wrong.....I made rock cakes instead. We still ate 'em.

I couldn't find the scone cutter, so I used a measuring cup instead
this is how they should look,  (Lorraine's scones)
I don't know what I did wrong - must have been the oven.
Mine were so bad I forgot (embarrassed) to take a photo.

A challenge ahead

I haven't got much to show in the way of stitching...been too busy moving the shop around, again. We have dedided not to renew our lease in Jimboomba as the rent is far too expensive but I think I have upset the landlord, 20 months into our lease, 4 month before we leave, he demanded all the quilts be removed from the windows. If it was a problem I think he should have made the request when we first moved in - what a bully. Anyway...

we have to move all this

into here
somehow I don't think we are going to fit...
We have 11 weeks to turn our double lockup garage in wonderful haven for our home based business.
In the meantime if you live in Brisbane make sure you visit us at the shop loads of fabric from $12.00metre.

Teapots and Tampons

I really struggle when a new roll of wadding needs to be cut as they are heavy and so much bigger than I am and this one just got the better of me.
Who could resist a photo, Teresa suggested it looks like I'm wrestling with a giant tampon.

and one comment I received on my last post suggested I wear the bunny teacosy on my head.
so Sue, I took your suggestion, what ya think, do ya think it will catch on, lol.
HaHa... who needs a teapot.
